Exploring San Francisco

This past weekend, Frank and I were in San Francisco. The weather was beautiful and our tour guide, Susie, definitely proved to be the "hostess with the mostess."

While we did a lot of exploring, we also ate our way through San Francisco. From fresh oysters to amazing Mexican, we didn't have one bad meal....

...I also came across what I believe to be the BEST thing that I have ever ate...

A Bacon Cheeseburger on a House Glazed Donut. If you grimace in disgust at that, I no longer think that we can be friends.

We came across this amazing creation (named "The Ringmaster") at a little carnival themed place called "Straw" in Hayes Valley. The reviews on yelp looked perfect, and Susie had recently read about it, so we decided to give it a try. It turned out to be an ideal little hole in the wall. Very small, friendly staff, and as mentioned before amazing food. When I had ordered The Ringmaster, the waitress suggested that I add bacon to it. I was a bit apprehensive at first since I usually don't go for bacon cheeseburgers, but this ended up definitely being the right call.

While my meal was a godsend, Frank's Fried Chicken & Waffle Monte Cristo was mouthwatering as well. It consisted of free range chicken on a belgian waffle, with raspberry jam and swiss cheese.

The large farmers markets, easy availability of free ranged and organic food, and sheer amount of delightful restaurants astounded me. Of course our trip wasn't only about food - here are a few more shots from the weekend!

  1. I want that burger!!! It looks amazing! The chicken and waffles aren't too bad either :) I love yelp, I can always count on tons of info from the reviews on there, especially in cities you don't know.
